Passion Project 1.0 - Initial Thoughts
I have created a separate page containing problems I may try to solve during my 80/20 time as a personal project. Another project I am considering that perhaps wont solve any real world problems but would be fun, challenging, and increase my understanding of jet engines would be to create a model turbofan. With this model I could also probably use it as a test subject to other supplementary ideas such as how to reduce engine noise.
Interesting project, Jason. I wonder, if you are interested in solving bigger issues with jet engines, is if you might look at reducing fuel consumption or finding alternate energy sources to drive the engines. I don't know what work has already been done in that area already. The noise issue would certainly be a "real world" problem as well!
